Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the picturesque County Durham, my recent stay at Hardwick Hall Hotel during the festive season was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel welcome, even accommodating our late-night dinner cravings at the hotel restaurant—a true testament to their hospitality. The luxurious room we stayed in featured a huge, comfortable bed that was perfect for a restful night's sleep after the festive festivities. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful bathroom, which was both modern and elegant, striking the right balance between comfort and sophistication. The dining experience was a standout element, with my friends raving about the succulent cuts of fine Durham Beef at the Rib Room restaurant. The extensive wine list provided a delightful accompaniment to our meals, enhancing our overall culinary journey. The bar area, brimming with colonial charm, was the perfect spot for evening drinks, and we appreciated the staff's attentiveness as they kept the bar open just for our small party. As a single architect fascinated by both history and modern architectural design, Hardwick Hall's blend of rich heritage with contemporary comfort struck a chord with me. The surroundings were simply beautiful, offering a serene backdrop for reflection and relaxation—a luxury I deeply value. I highly recommend Hardwick Hall Hotel for anyone seeking a memorable stay in a unique historical setting adorned with modern amenities.
